This Privacy Policy explains how the Word Widget mobile application ("Word Widget", "the App") collects, uses, and protects information when you use it. Word Widget is owned and operated by Erdi Tuncalp ("we", "us", "our"). By using the App, you agree to this Policy. Questions? Contact us at support@wordwidget.app.

1. Information We Collect

We designed Word Widget to work without requiring you to create an account. We do not ask for your real name, email, or contacts. We collect the following:

  • Information you provide: an optional display name you may enter during onboarding, which is stored locally on your device.
  • Usage & device data: in-app interactions (features used, screens viewed), device model, operating system version, app version, language and region, and a randomly generated identifier used to operate analytics and marketing measurement.
  • Subscription data: your subscription and trial status and transaction identifiers. Payments are processed by Apple; we never receive your full payment card details.
  • Crash & diagnostic data: crash reports and performance information used to fix bugs and improve stability.

2. Third-Party Services

We rely on the following third-party services, each of which may process data under its own privacy policy:

  • Google Analytics for Firebase (Google) — usage analytics.
  • Firebase Crashlytics (Google) — crash reporting and diagnostics.
  • Amplitude — product analytics.
  • Facebook SDK (Meta) — attribution and measurement of marketing campaigns.
  • RevenueCat — management of subscriptions and premium entitlements.
  • Apple — processes all payments and subscriptions through the App Store.

3. How We Use Information

  • To provide and operate the App and its features (widgets, categories, tests, reminders).
  • To manage subscriptions, free trials, and premium access.
  • To understand how the App is used and to improve it.
  • To diagnose crashes and resolve technical problems.
  • To measure the effectiveness of our marketing.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

4. Legal Bases (GDPR)

Where the GDPR applies, we process your data based on your consent (for analytics and marketing where required), the performance of a contract (providing the App and your subscription), and our legitimate interests (improving and securing the App).

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with the service providers listed above, acting as our processors, and where required by law.

6. Data Retention

We retain data only as long as necessary for the purposes described above or as required by law. Data stored locally remains on your device until you delete the App or clear it from within Settings.

7. Your Rights

Depending on where you live (for example, the EEA/UK under the GDPR, or California under the CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your data, and to object to processing or withdraw consent. You can:

  • Delete your locally stored data from within the App's Settings, where available.
  • Reset your advertising identifier or limit tracking through your device's iOS Settings.
  • Contact us at support@wordwidget.app to exercise any of these rights.

8. Children's Privacy

Word Widget is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has provided us data, please contact us and we will delete it.

9. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure.

10. International Transfers

Our service providers may process data in countries other than your own. Where required, appropriate safeguards are applied to such transfers.

We may update this Policy from time to time. Any material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date at the top of this page.
